The Sixth Chamber edition by Regar Mickler Literature Fiction eBooks

Author's note
I originally published this novel in 1989 because of my fear of government growth and its attendant debt. It was piling up too fast, even then.
Now, it has reached unmanageable proportions... just as fictional fed chairman Jack Mason predicted. So how do you weave an economic "commercial"
into a novel without boring the reader to tears, or worse? That's the question, isn't it?
Thanks for reading and I know you'll enjoy The Sixth Chamber. Regar Mickler
About the Author
Regar Mickler is a retired U.S. Naval Reserve officer who spent four years on active duty in the mid-sixties as a parachutist and forward observer for naval gunfire. After leaving active duty, he became a financial consultant and economist. It will be apparent to the reader that he has drawn heavily from both careers in the crafting of The Sixth Chamber. He and his wife Kathryn reside in Florida.
The Story
It's the beginning of the Korean War, and the Communist Chinese have no inkling of the human goldmine they captured when they downed a United States Navy plane in Manchuria. And things might have turned out quite differently if Nicholas Petrovitch, a Russian military advisor and attempted defector, had known he was sharing his imprisonment with three extraordinary young officers. First there is Bill Blaine, who'd already developed a sophisticated bomb-sighting device; he would become a captain of industry after the war, and his General Avionics company would revolutionize microchip technology. "Corky" Trice would enter politics and go on to become president of the United States. And if that were not enough, there's Jack Mason, who, as Federal Reserve chairman, would institute a sweeping series of fiscal and monetary reforms to stave off an imminent worldwide economic collapse.
In this finely crafted novel, Regar Mickler follows Mason's meteoric rise from those dark days in Manchuria to the pinnacles of personal as well as national achievement. Readers are treated to an exciting world tour of economic and political intrigue as they travel with Mason from the early days of the Communist takeover in Hungary to the twilight days of the Batista regime in Cuba, from the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam to the boardroom of the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C. The reader of The Sixth Chamber is not the only interested observer of Mason's career. Watching just as closely is a highly placed Russian army officer. Colonel Nicholas Petrovitch.
300 meters below the surface of the South China Sea… Jack Mason to Petrovitch
“… every time I find myself with you I feel as though we’ve added another bullet. A matter of odds.”
The Sixth Chamber edition by Regar Mickler Literature Fiction eBooks
Mickler has written a provocative, largely plausible, well-crafted and fast-paced yarn which should keep its reader glued to a chair or reluctant to switch off the bedside lamp. The novel is responsibly researched but inventive, and the author is wonderfully descriptive, with just the right number of modifiers to vivify scenes and characters. I read the book some years ago and am pleased, as I'm confident you will be, that it now is available in Kindle. Pick up a copy for the beach, the porch, or the hearth.
